How to Choose the Right Vanity Size for Your Bathroom
What is the best size for your bathroom?
Vanity size affects more than whether it fits — it shapes how your whole bathroom feels and functions. Here's a simple way to think it through.
Start with your wall width. Measure the full available wall space, then subtract room for door swing, towel bars, or adjacent fixtures. Leave a few inches of breathing room on each side rather than maxing out the space.
Think about sink configuration. A 30" or 36" vanity typically suits a single sink in a powder room or secondary bath. 48" gives more counter space for a single sink with storage to spare. 60" is our largest single-sink option — ideal as a primary bathroom centrepiece with room for two people to share the counter, even without a double basin.
Don't forget storage needs. Larger vanities mean more drawers (our 60" Rosseau includes six soft-close BLUM LEGRABOX drawers), which matters if you're consolidating storage from elsewhere in the bathroom.
Check your plumbing rough-in. Especially important if you're not moving existing plumbing — confirm your drain and supply lines align with the vanity's sink placement.
Still torn between two sizes? When in doubt, sizing up slightly usually feels more intentional than sizing down.
